30th November:

Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck is still on Loch Tiumpan.

North Uist: 5 Long-tailed Tits were at Claddach Kirkibost again today.

 

29th November:

Lewis: A Little Auk flew out of Ness harbour.

Harris: 22 Waxwings were reported flying towards Northton from Scarasta Bheag. 22 Snow Buntings were also at Scarasta.

Benbecula: A Treecreeper was at Gramsdale.

South Uist: A female Lesser Scaup and a Velvet Scoter are on Loch Bornish. 2 Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

Barra: A Coal Tit and 10 Long-tailed Tits were on the island today

 

28th November:

North Uist: A Puffin was close inshore at Aird an Runair whilst 3 Common Scoters flew north there. A pair of Pintail were nearby on Loch a' Roe.

Benbecula: 9 Common Scoters were off Balivanich.

South Uist: A Velvet Scoter and 5 Common Scoters flew south off Ardvule this morning. 2 Blackcaps were in South Glendale. The juvenile Velvet Scoter was at the south end of Loch Bee.

Barra: A Treecreeper was at Brevig.

Marine Sightings: 4 Risso's Dolphins and 40 Common Dolphins were off Tiumpan Head this morning.

27th November:

Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.

Benbecula: A Snow Bunting flew south over Stinky Bay late morning.

South Uist: The female Lesser Scaup and female / juvenile Velvet Scoter were on Loch Bornish. A Waxwing and 2 Blackcaps were in South Glendale. At least 6 Long-tailed Tits were at North Loch Eynort.

26th November:

Lewis: 3 Sooty Shearwaters flew past Port of Ness today and a Snow Buting was also there. A Green-winged Teal was on Loch Stiapabhat.

North Uist: 62 Snow Buntings were on the Udal and 4 Common Scoters were off-shore. 4 Long-tailed Tits were at Claddach Kirkibost.

South Uist: A Waxwing and 2 Blackcaps are still in South Glendale.

Barra: A 2nd w Little Gull was at Eoligarry pier. A drake Green-winged Teal was at Ardmhor.

Marine Sightings: 7 Risso's Dolphins, 10+ White-beaked Dolphins and 4 Harbour Porpoise were off Tiumpan Head this morning.

 

25th November:

Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. A Little Auk flew past the Butt in the afternoon. 2 Waxwings were in Stornoway.

North Uist: 5 Long-tailed Tits were at Claddach Kirkibost around lunchtime.

Benbecula: 2 Common Scoters were off Balivanich.

South Uist: The juvenile Velvet Scoter was at the southern end of Loch Bee along with 3 Scaup. 6 Common Scoters were off North Bay / Mol Mor. 95 Greenland White-fronted Geese were on the west side of Loch Bee; also 3 Black-tailed Godwits there. A Snow Bunting flew over Balgarva. A drake Pintail was on Loch an-t'Saile. A Great White Egret flew north-east over North Bay / Mol Mor this evening. A Waxwing and 2 Blackcaps (male and female) were in South Glendale.

Barra: 28 Long-tailed Tits were noted on the island today.

24th November:

Lewis: An immature Glaucous Gull and 3 Snow Buntings were in South Galson. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Port Stoth.

North Uist: A 2nd winter Glaucous Gull, a Snow Bunting and 54 Brent Geese were at Rubh' Arnal. A Waxwing was at Baymore, Grimsay this afternoon.

South Uist: A Waxwing and 3 Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

23rd November:

Lewis: An adult Glaucous Gull was at Fivepenny and 2 Snow Buntings were at Port Stoth. A juvenile Iceland Gull was in Stornoway harbour.

 

22nd November:

South Uist: A Waxwing and 2 female Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

Barra: A Waxwing was in Brevig this morning.

Marine Sightings: A Humpback Whale and 100 Common Dolphins were seen from the Stornoway - Ullapool ferry this morning.

 

21st November:

Lewis: 2 Waxwings were at Willowglen, Stornoway.

S. Kilda: A Snow Goose was in Hirta today.

North Uist: A Great Crested Grebe was on Loch Bhrusda, Berneray. A drake Goosander was on a pool just north of the North Ford causeway.

South Uist: A Waxwing and 2 Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

Barra: 2 Waxwings were in Northbay and another was at Creachan. A 2nd winter Little Gull was at Eoligarry.

 

20th November:

Lewis: The drake Green-winged Teal was on Loch Stiapabhat and the American Golden Plover was just to the north. 8 Waxwings were in Stornoway at Goathill Crescent. The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.

South Uist: 7 Black-tailed Godwits were at Loch Ardvule. 2 Blackcaps and a Waxwing were in South Glendale.

Barra: 2 Waxwings were in Northbay.

19th November:

North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Loch Paible.

Benbecula: 7 Common Scoter were off Balivanich.

Lewis: The American Golden Plover was by Loch Stiapabhat. 11 Waxwings were by Lews Castle.

South Uist: The female / juvenile Velvet Scoter and 3 Scaup were at the south end of Loch Bee; also 2 Scaup to the east of the causeway. The female / juvenile Velvet Scoter was on Loch Bornish. A female Lesser Scaup, drake Rring-necked Duck and a Common Scoter were on West Loch Ollay. 6 Coot were on Loch Stilligarry. A Wawxing was in Askernish. A Fircerest was seen in Smerclate.

Barra: An Iceland Gull was at Traigh Mhor.

 

18th November:

Lewis: A Waxwing was in South Galson. 50 -60 Snow Buntings were by Ness cemetery. 7 Waxwings were in Stornoway. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at the Butt in the afternoon.

North Uist: A Snow Goose was at Malclate this morning.

South Uist: A female / juvenile Velvet Scoter is still at the southern end of Loch Bee; also 4 Scaup there. 4 Waxwings were in Askernish.

 

17th November:

Lewis: 4 Waxwings were in Stornoway. 3 Waxwings were at Kennedy Terrace, Stormoway.

North Uist: A Rook was seen just south of Bayhead at lunchtime.

South Uist: 5 Waxwings were in Askernish. A juvenile / female Velvet Scoter was on Loch Bornish. A Waxwing, 2 Blackcaps and 2 Woodcock were in South Glendale today.

Barra: A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Creachan.

16th November:

Lewis: The immature drake King Eider was just south of the Butt, towards Eoropie; also a Snow Bunting there. A single Snow Bunting was at South Galson. 7 Waxwings were in Stornoway at the junction of Goathill Road and Anderson Road.

South Uist: 6 Waxwings were in Askernish. A Chiffchaff and Blackcap were in South Glendale.

 

15th November:

Lewis: 3 Waxwings were in Stornoway by the Bridge Centre.

Harris: At least 3 Little Auks were seen to the south-east of the Shiants from the Ullapool - Lochmaddy ferry this afternoon.

North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Kyles Paible.

South Uist: The juvenile / female Velvet Scoter was still at the south end of Loch Bee.

Barra: A drake Green-winged Teal was at Eoligarry. At least 1 Waxwing was in Castlebay. A Velvet Scoter was off Vatersay.

At least 60 Common Dolphins were seen from the Ullapool - Lochmaddy ferry today.

 

14th November:

South Uist: 5 Waxwings were in Askernish. A Waxwing and 3 Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

13th November:

Lewis: 15 Waxwings were at Kennedy Terrace, Stornoway and 12 Waxwings were at Willowglen. The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. 3 Sooty Shearwaters were seen from the Ullapool - Stronoway ferry.

Benbecula: 3 Waxwings were in Balivanich.

South Uist: A drake Green-winged Teal was on West Loch Ollay. 6 Waxwings were still in Askernish.

Barra: 5 Waxwings were at Brevig.

 

12th November:

Lewis: The immature drake King Eider was off the Butt; also an immature Glaucous Gull and 25 Snow Buntings. A probable Olive-backed Pipit was seen at Eoropie. 2 Waxwings were at Eoropie. The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. 3 Waxwings were at Gary beach, North Tolsta and 20 were at Kennedy Terrace, Stornoway. The American Golden Plover was by Loch Stiapabhat.

South Uist: A juvenile / female Velvet Scoter was at the south end of Loch Bee; also 5 Scaup to the east of the causeway there. A Lesser Scaup was on West Loch Ollay; also a Green-winged Teal and 3 Coots. 6 Waxwings were in Askernish. A Waxwing was at Carnan.

 

11th November:

Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.

South Uist: 2 Waxwings were in Askernish. An American Golden Plover was on the Range at LA3. 2 Waxwings were at Lochboisdale. 2 Waxwings and 2 Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

Barra: 2 Waxwings were in Northbay and another was at Eoligarry.

10th November:

Lewis: A Wawxing was in Port of Ness this morning. A Glaucous Gull was at Bragar.

South Uist: A Waxwing was in Bornish.

Barra: 5 Waxwings were on the island today.

 

9th November:

Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. A Waxwing was at Kennedy Terrace, Stronoway.

South Uist: A Waxwing was in Bornish. 2 Blackcaps were in South Glendale.

Barra: A Waxwing was in Castlebay.

 

8th November:

Lewis: The immature drake King Eider was off the Butt of Lewis and 26 Snow Buntings came in off the sea there, heading west down the cliffs. 11 Waxwings were seen in Willowglen, Stornoway.

North Uist: A Waxwing was in Carinish. The Snow Goose was on the machair at Sollas today.

South Uist: 2 Waxwings were in Bornish.

Barra: 3 Waxwings were on the island.

 

7th November:

Lewis: A couple of Waxwings were on Jamieson Drive, Stornoway. 13 Sooty Shearwaters were seen from the ferry between Ullapool and Stornoway. The Ring-necked Duck was at Loch Tiumpan and 2 Snow Buntings were at Tiumpan Head.

North Uist: 6 Waxwings were at Gearradubh, Grimsay.

South Uist: 3 Waxwings were in Bornish. 8 Long-tailed Tits were at North Loch Eynort. A Waxwing was in South Glendale.

Barra: 8 Waxwings were on the island today.

 

6th November:

Lewis: The Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. 10 Waxwings were in Springfield Road, Stornoway. 5 Waxwings were in Kennedy Terrace, Stornoway.

Benbecula: 4 Long-tailed Tits were in a garden at Gramisdale.

South Uist: 3 Waxwings were in Bornish.

Barra: 2 Waxwings were on the island today.

 

5th November:

Lewis: A Waxwing was still at Kennedy Terrace.

Benbecula: A Lesser Yellowlegs was seen on the shore to the west of Aird.

South Uist: A Waxwing was in Bornish this morning.

Barra: 2 Waxwings were at Brevig.

 

4th November:

Lewis: 20 Waxwings were at Macrae Place, Stornoway. The Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. A Waxwing was in Gravir. A Glaucous Gull and 40 Snow Buntings were at Port of Ness.

North Uist: 17 Sooty Shearwaters were seen from the Lochmaddy - Ullapool ferry this morning. 3 Long-tailed Tits and a Brambling were at Sctovein, Grimsay.

South Uist: 9 Waxwings were in Lochboisdale early afternoon.

 

3rd November:

Lewis: An American Golden Plover and Green-winged Teal were at Loch Stiapabhat. 3 Waxwings were in Stewart Drive, Stornoway.

North Uist: A Jackdaw flew west at Claddach Kirkibost. Around 20 Common Redpolls were in Paible today; near Heisgeir View; also 13 Waxwings dropped in briefly.

Benbecula: 2 Waxwings were on Balivanich by the hospital.

South Uist: A Waxwing and 4 Long-tailed Tits were at North Loch Eynort. 8 Waxwings were in Bornish.

Barra: 2 Waxwings were on the island. 16 Common Redpolls were on the island.

2nd November:

Lewis: A male Bullfinch was in Bragar (by the self storage units). The Pied Flycatcher is still in South Dell. 5 Waxwings were in Garden Road, Stornoway today. 7 Snow Buntings were at the Butt. 81 Waxwings reported from Stornoway with 65 at Willowglen and 16 at Smith Avenue.

North Uist: 5 Waxwings were across the road from the shop in Lochmaddy. A Waxwing was just south of Bayhead. 18 Snow Buntings were on the machair at Balranald.

South Uist: A Green-winged Teal and 2 Coots were on West Loch Ollay. 12 Snow Buntings were near Ardmicheal cemetery. A juvenile Little Stint was at Ardvule; also 31 Black-tailed Godwits, a Woodcock and a Rook. A Mistle Thrush was in South Glendale. 5 Snow Buntings and a Wheatear were at Howmore.

1st November:

Lewis: 4 Waxwings were on Kennedy Terrace and 1 was breifly in Urquahart Gardens, Stornoway today. 90 Waxwings were reported over Wiilowglen, Stornoway today.
