31st January:

Lewis: An adult Glaucous Gull and a Little Auk were seen off Skigersta this afternoon.

North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull flew south-east along the shore at Baleshare this afternoon.

Barra: A juvenile Surf Scoter was off Eoligarry jetty.

 

30th January:

Lewis: A Mistle Thrush was in South Galson.

Barra: The Surf Scoter was off Eoligarry jetty.

 

29th January:

Lewis: An adult Glaucous Gull was at Loch Stiapabhat this evening.

Barra: The Surf Scoter was off Eoligarry jetty today.

 

28th January:

North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Loch Sandary.

Benbecula: An adult Glaucous Gull was in Stinky Bay.

South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar. A Little Gull was in North Bay.

Barra: An adult Glaucous Gull was at Traigh Mhor.

 

27th January:

Barra: A Velvet Scoter was off Ardmhor.

 

25th January:

Lewis: An immature Glaucous Gull was on Coll beach and a Tundra Bean Goose was just north of there.

North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was on Baleshare.

 

24th January:

Lewis: A 3rd winter Glaucous Gull was at the Butt.

North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Loch Paible.

Barra: The 1st winter Surf Scoter was on the east bay at Vatersay.

 

23rd January:

North Uist: A juvenile Gluacous Gull was at Balemore.

 

21st January:

Lewis: A Tundra Bean Goose was at Upper Coll. The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.

South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar. 11 Snow Buntings were on the beach at North Bay / Mol Mor.

 

20th January:

North Uist: 62 Snow Buntings were at Kyles Paible.

 

19th January:

Benbecula: A Little Egret was at Coot Loch and another was at Loch Mor.

 

17th January:

Lewis: A juvenile Glaucous Gull and 3rd winter Iceland Gull were at the Butt this morning. A Green-winged Teal and adult Glaucous Gull were at Loch Stiapabhat.

 

16th January:

Lewis: An adult Iceland Gull was on the approach to Stornoway harbour.

North Uist: A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Balranald.

 

15th January:

Lewis: A drake Ring-necked Duck was at Loch na Muilne, Arnol.

Barra: An adult Glaucous Gull was at Borve. A juvenile Surf Scoter was off Ardmhor and another juvenile was off Vatersay.

 

12th January:

South Uisy: A drake American Wigeon was at Loch Ardvule and a Little Auk flew south off the point this morning.

Insects: A Winter Moth was seen in South Glendale last night.

9th January:

Lewis: 27 Snow Buntings were at Coll beach and another was at Siadar.

South Uist: 6 Snow Buntings were along the shore at Stoneybidge.

 

8th January:

South Uist: An adult Glaucous Gull was between Hallan and Kilpheder today.

Barra: A juvenile Surf Scoter and a Little Auk were seen off the east side of Vatersay; also an adult Glaucous Gull was on the island.

7th January:

South Uist: A Green-winged Teal was along the Howmore River. 3 Taiga Bean Geese were reported amongst Greylags near Hebridean Jewellery today.

 

6th January:

South Uist: A drake Lesser Scaup was on West Loch Ollay. 2 Green-winged Teal were on the Howmore River.

 

4th January:

Lewis: The adult Mediterranean Gull was at South Galson again today.

South Uist: An immature Glaucous Gull was on the beach at Drimsdale. A Grey Wagtail was near the mouth of the Howmore River and a Taiga Bean Goose was along the Howmore River.

3rd January:

Lewis: An adult Glaucous Gull and 2 Iceland Gulls (a juvenile and 2nd winter) were at the Butt. A Tundra Bean Goose was just north of Coll beach.

South Uist: A juvenile Iceland Gull was in North Bay / Mol Mor. 25 - 30 Snow Buntings flew over the machair at Ardivachar.

 

2nd January:

Lewis: 3 Glaucous Gulls (an adult, 2nd winter and a juvenile and an adult Iceland Gull were at the Butt. An adult Mediterranean Gull and a juvenile Glaucous Gull were at South Galson. A juvenile Glaucous Gull and a juvenile Iceland Gull were at Siadar.

South Uist: The drake Lesser Scaup is still at Loch Dobhrain. A Green-winged Teal was on Loch Ardvule.

1st January:

Lewis: An adult Glaucous Gull and Iceland Gull were on the beach at Shader before flying north.
